She is currently working as a conservation biologist at the Laboratory of Ecology and Systematics (LES) at the University of Madeira. Her activities include entomological field surveys across the Madeira Archipelago, as well as the optimisation of laboratory workflows and the development of internal regulations and protocols for the laboratory (LES) and its Insect Collection (UMACI). She is also involved in the dissemination of scientific activities through outreach and communication initiatives.
Her research interests centre on micro-islands, functional and insular ecology, faunistic work on endemic Fulgoromorpha, and the conservation of endemic invertebrates, integrating fieldwork, collection-based research, biodiversity data management and applied conservation.
