This species is endemic to a single site on La Gomera and although the site is not thought to face any threats, there remain the possibilities that some event could impact the site in the future and hence it is listed as Near Threatened, almost qualifying for criteria B.
This species is endemic to the Canary islands, in the north-western part of La Gomera. Alonso et al. (1995) note that this species is only known from a single location the Montana de Beguira and probably very localised.
There are no data on population and it is known only from a few specimens.
This species occurs in open rocky habitats (Alonso et al. 1995)
This site is not thought to face any threat: it is considered to be secure from fire and, due to its remoteness, unlikely to face development in the near future.
There are no conservation actions. The type locality should be protected.
