Although this species has a very restricted distribution, there are no known major threats and the entire distribution is under local conservation schemes. However, if the species did become threatened and subject to continuing decline, it would qualify as Critically Endangered (CR). It is currently considered to be Near Threatened (NT).

Geographic Range:

This species is endemic to the island of Alegranza north of Lanzarote. This species is recorded from one location and six sites situated in the central crater.
