Assessment Rationale:

There are two known sites in one location and the area of occupancy is smaller than 10 km2, but there is no current major threat and no reason to suppose that the extent of occurrence, area of occupancy, quality of habitat, number of locations, number of sub-populations or the number or mature individuals are declining or extremely fluctuating. Therefore, it is assessed as Near Threatened (NT), almost meeting criteria B.

Geographic Range:

This species is endemic to the island of La Gomera. This species is only known from its type locality in the northwestern area of La Gomera.

Population:

There are no data on the population size or trend.

Habitat and Ecology

This species lives on steep cliffs of volcanic rock, exposed to wind and fog emerging from the ocean. Animals hide in small cavities, lichens being the only vegetation on the rock faces.
