This species is endemic to the Azores Islands (Portugal), where it is found on Santa Maria (Cameron et al. 2012) in 12 of the 17 sites recorded in the survey. It is considered to be widespread on the island and is tolerant of disturbance, and hence is considered Least Concern (LC).
